Ganguly, however, hinted at Ponting’s departure and lashed him by saying that he didn’t do anything noteworthy during his 7-year stay as DC head coach!

Gambhir to decide IND squad for SL series!

Gautam Gambhir, India’s new head coach, will meet chief selector Ajit Agarkar next week to select squads for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka, starting July 27. This will be Gambhir’s first assignment as head coach, taking over from Rahul Dravid. According to reports, Hardik Pandya is likely to be named T20I captain, while KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will return to the ODI team. The meeting will discuss and finalize the squads for the three-match ODI and T20I series.

Jaiswal powers IND to series win vs ZIM!

Young southpaw Yashasvi Jaiswal made a powerful statement in the 4th T20I against Zimbabwe. Jaiswal, who missed the first two games, smashed an unbeaten 93 off 53 balls, guiding India to a dominant 10-wicket win and a 3-1 series lead. His knock showcased his talent and desire to become the first-choice opener for Team India across formats. Chasing Zimbabwe’s 152/7, India, led by Jaiswal and Shubman Gill’s 156-run opening partnership, sealed the victory with almost 5 overs to spare.

In a thrilling finale, India Champions emerged victorious over Pakistan Champions in the first-ever WCL trophy. Chasing a target, India got off to a shaky start but Ambati Rayudu steadied the ship with a crucial fifty. After Rayudu’s dismissal, Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan’s experience saw them through, taking the match deep. With the required run rate under control, Yusuf almost finished it but his brother Irfan Pathan sealed the deal with a six in the penultimate over. This win mirrored India’s 2007 T20 World Cup triumph, with Yuvraj and a Pathan brother playing starring roles again.

India to travel Pakistan?

There’s uncertainty about India’s participation in the Champions Trophy hosted by Pakistan next year. Reports suggested India might skip due to BCCI not allowing the team to travel. However, BCCI vice-president clarified that no official decision is made. He reiterated that India’s participation depends on government approval, similar to their stance for previous matches in Pakistan.
