Champions Trophy ‘final’ meeting on December 14

ICC Chairman Jay Shah will have a virtual meeting with the BCCI and PCB on December 14. According to reports, PCB has accepted to host the Champions Trophy 2025 in a hybrid model, and on Saturday, it’ll be confirmed. Now, the India vs Pakistan match will take place in Dubai. However, PCB has also won, as the next game between the arch-rivals, in the T20 World Cup 2026, won’t take place in Sri Lanka instead of India.

Shami to quit Test cricket for IPL?

Mohammed Shami has reportedly decided to retire from Tests and focus on white-ball cricket. The decision came about due to the pacer’s fitness issues. To ensure he can continue to play at a high level, he’ll step away from the longest format. His targets for the next years would be the Champions Trophy 2025 and the IPL 2025 season.

Rohit-Kohli to take T20I retirement U-turn?

Basit Ali, Pakistan’s former cricketer, has raised a good question. If the Champions Trophy 2025 takes place in a T20 format, will Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma take back their T20I retirements and feature in the tournament? The question comes after it was reported that ICC might be forced to change formats from ODI to T20I as the PCB-BCCI stalemate continues.

The all-rounder was concerned and urged the guards not to use force to remove them.

Why Jason Gillespie resigned as Pakistan Test coach

Jason Gillespie was unhappy with the PCB for revoking his say in selecting not just the squad but also the playing XI and, therefore, resigned. But wait, there is more. After the PCB broke their terms, he also chose to walk back from his commitment. He’d initially agreed to spend more time in Pakistan, looking at domestic cricketers, but he didn’t do so.
