AMAN SEHRAWAT bags 6th medal for India

India clinched another Olympic wrestling medal as Aman Sehrawat won bronze at the Paris Olympics. The 21-year-old defeated Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz 13-5 in the men’s 57 kg freestyle. Sehrawat became India’s seventh Olympic wrestling medalists and the youngest ever from the country. He has joined Manu Bhaker (one single & other with Sarabjot Singh), Neeraj Chopra, Indian field hockey team and Swapnil Kusale to enjoy a podium finish at Paris Olympics.

IPL Auction update!

The BCCI confirmed its commitment to the IPL mega auction, despite franchise owners’ objections. While BCCI remained firm on the MEGA auction, it proposed increasing the retention limit from four to six players per franchise. Additionally, the Right to Match rule, unused since 2018, might return, allowing teams to combine retentions and RTMs. This potential 4+2 or 3+3 system would shape the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Cloud over Women’s T20 World Cup

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are seeking the army’s assurance for the Women’s T20 World Cup’s security. The tournament, scheduled for October, is facing uncertainty due to violent protests and the former PM Sheikh Hasina’s departure. The ICC considered alternative venues like India, Sri Lanka, and UAE. But, the BCB, with many officials abroad, sent a letter to the army seeking security guarantees. The ICC contacted the BCB, which awaited assurance from the interim government before responding.

Sanju Samson to return!

Kerala Cricket League (KCL) is set to ignite with Sanju Samson as its star player. The tournament kicks off on September 2 at Greenfield International Stadium in Trivandrum. Despite recent T20I struggles, Samson returns to home turf to lead the league. The KCL logo was unveiled recently, and a player auction is scheduled for August 10 to form teams of 20 players each. Pink-ball Test for India!

India will play a two-day pink-ball match against the Prime Minister’s XI on November 30-December 1 in Canberra, as preparation for the Adelaide day-night Test against Australia. This Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, starting November 22, will be India’s first five-Test series against Australia since 1991-92.
