DRS, April 2: Riyan Parag, Yuzi Chahal shine as RR school MI at Wankhede

Welcome to our special segment DRS or the Daily Review System. In this, InsideSport will provide you with the top stories of IPL from a day before that you might have missed in the hustle and bustle of your busy life.

Cricket fans were in for an entertaining game as Rajasthan Royals locked horns with Mumbai Indians. However, it was not the outing that MI hoped for. The hosts were handed their 3rd defeat on a trot as Rajasthan Royals go on top the charts with a 6 wicket win. Riyan Parag, Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult stood strong at Wankhede as RR schooled the hosts.

Rohit Sharma Tops charts for Ducks!

Rohit Sharma had a horrible outing in the RR vs MI clash at Wankhede. The former Mumbai Indians skipper was dismissed for a golden duck by a in-form Trent Boult. And that is not the end of the misery for the ace opener. This was Rohit’s 17th duck in IPL. And with this he has gone on to top charts of Most Ducks in IPL with Dinesh Karthik.

Ignore Yuzi Chahal makes case for Team India return

Ignored Yuzvendra Chahal has made a strong case for his return to Team India. The ace spinner has already bagged 6 wickets in 3 games. He went on to bag 3 wickets against MI giving away just 11 runs in his 4 over spell. Chahal who last played for India in August 2023, will be desperate for return to India Squad for T20 World Cup.

Riyan Parag continues to reign supreme in IPL 2024

Back to back fifties in IPL 2024, Riyan Parag has been the man in form for Rajasthan Royals. The 22-year-old batter slammed a fine unbeaten knock of 54 to go on to accumulate the highest runs so far in IPL 2024. With 181 runs in 3 games, he is now the Orange Cap winner.

Knee trouble back to haunt MSD?

It looks like MS Dhoni’s knee injury is back to haunt him yet again. The ex-CSK skipper was spotted limping after the side’s defeat against DC in Vizag. This raises serious questions. Will MSD play against SRH? Will he bat again in IPL 2024?

Buzz for IPL 2025 begins already!

BCCI has called for a meeting of the IPL owners on April 16, although it hasn’t disclosed the official agenda. As per reports, player retentions, salary cap and the right to match card are certain topics that will be discussed during the meeting. It looks like the build up to the mega auction has already begun despite IPL 2024 being underway currently.

A Khaleel comeback on cards?

DC’s Khaleel Ahmed earned the Player of the Match accolade for his outstanding performance vs CSK, claiming 2 wickets for 21 runs, including a maiden over. Reflecting on his achievement, Khaleel expressed his aspirations of representing India again and hoped that his recent displays would pave the way for his national team comeback.

Shaw’s secret sauce

Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw’s knock against CSK on his comeback in IPL 2024 was inspired from ‘gully cricket’. The southpaw hammered a 27-ball 43 to set up DC’s win. A hilarious video posted by DC spills the beans on how Shaw used gully cricket to his advantage.

Dark horse Mohsin?

LSG pacer Mohsin Khan might have a history of injuries but Irfan Pathan thinks that won’t stop him from earning a spot in India’s 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. Khan collapsed on the sidelines of the field clutching his knee in LSG’s most recent game. Will he overcome the odds to secure a spot? Only time will tell.

A twist in Sri Lanka-Bangladesh rivalry

CSK’s Matheesha Pathirana grabbed an outstanding catch during the recent IPL 2024 clash between CSK and DC. However, it was his latest Instagram story that links the catch to SL-BAN rivalry that left fans in splits.

Mahi bhai, the forever ‘guru’

Who doesn’t share a warm bond with the legendary MS Dhoni? It isn’t unusual to spot cricketers gathering around MSD after each game to get some tips from the GOAT. And it certainly wasn’t any different after DC vs CSK either.

Only one fabulous Kohli in IPL!

It looks like Virat Kohli is the only active one among the Fab 4 to play the IPL 2024. While Williamson is a part of GT but is yet to play a game, Steve Smith has turned into a commentator this time. Joe Root isn’t even in the picture.

Bengaluru brace for LSG wave

The Lucknow Super Giants team on Monday arrived in Bengaluru to play their next IPL 2024 vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru. LSG take on RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 2.
