Dream come true: Debutant Sarfaraz Khan ecstatic after contributing to India’s stellar win

Sarfaraz joined the esteemed company of Gavaskar, Dilawar Hussain and Shreyas Iyer to become just the fourth Indian to smash twin fifties on Test debut.

While Ravindra Jadeja and Yashasvi Jaiswal shone brightly in India’s remarkable 434-run victory in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test, debutant Sarfaraz Khan also emerged as a significant positive. The 26-year-old, in his maiden Test appearance, made a splendid debut for India, contributing half-centuries in both innings.

Sarfaraz was delighted to have contributed to India’s stellar win. Speaking after the win, Sarfaraz reflected upon his performance.

” First of all, I had my long-awaited debut. It was my dream to play for India and contribute to the win and I am immensely happy to give my performance and help the team win.” Said Sarfaraz.

Employing his natural attacking style, Sarfaraz scored 62 runs off 66 balls in the first innings and remained unbeaten with 68 runs off 72 balls in the second. His stellar performance played a crucial role as India achieved their most significant Test cricket win by overpowering England by 434 runs.

India take 2-1 lead with a win in Rajkot:

Yashasvi Jaiswal notched a brilliant double century, while Ravindra Jadeja claimed figures of 5/41 as India dominated England, securing a monumental 434-run victory in the Rajkot Test within four days. Chasing a daunting target of 557, England succumbed to 122 all out, marking their sixth-lowest Test total against India. Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav dismantled England’s batting lineup, enabling India to wrap up the match in under 40 overs and surge ahead to a 2-1 lead in the series.
