Drama galore in Pak cricket: Scribes walk out of Multan Sultans press conference before PSL 2024 final

Apparently, the journalists asked for Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan or any other senior player for the press conference.

An epic drama played out in the media room during the pre-event press conference ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 final. The media manager of the Multan Sultans and the journalists got into a verbal altercation while they were assembled in the room for the team’s press conference.

The reporters weren’t pleased with the manager’s actions when Multan coach Abdul Rehman showed up to talk to the media. The manager asked the journalists, who were unhappy with the proceedings, to leave if they so desired. A few chose to listen and leave the room.

In the clips circulating on social media, a journalist can be seen speaking to the media manager before starting to walk off. “It’s ok, those who don’t want to sit can go,” the media manager stated in Urdu.

Despite the lack of an official explanation, rumors circulated online that the journalists had asked for Rizwan or other senior-cricketer to attend the press conference rather than the assistant coach. The walkout was a protest against their demand going unanswered. PSL 2024 has already seen a dip in attendance. Another infamous episode before the PSL 2024 final would only add to the woes.
