Jasprit Bumrah: Enjoyment Over Pressure
Jasprit Bumrah missed the 2022 T20 World Cup due to injury but returned strongly last year. He highlighted his comeback philosophy: “Focus on enjoying the game as much as I can… Reduce your pressure and enjoy the sport.”
Secret to yorker success? Repetition is Key
Bumrah’s pinpoint yorkers are a nightmare for batsmen. He credits his childhood love for tennis-ball cricket and constant practice for mastering this skill. “Repetition surely is… I keep on practicing it… Every skill needs practice,” he revealed.
Leading by example, not over-teaching: Jasprit Bumrah
As the senior pacer, Bumrah has a unique approach to guiding youngsters like Arshdeep Singh. “You don’t try to over-teach… They don’t need too much information,” he believes. He focuses on sharing his experience but lets them find their own solutions.
“It’s not like they have just been lucky and they land here. So that is what I try to do. I do pass on certain information that I have gained over from my experience,” he added.
“But I don’t try to burden them with (over) information. Because that is a part of the journey as well.“
“That you have to find your own ways and solutions.”
