Former India cricketer Rohan Gavaskar has opined that Indian opener Shubman Gill will find it tough to find a spot in Team India’s T20I XI in near future.
Talking on Cricbuzz after India’s 6-wicket win over Afghanistan in 1st T20I, Rohan picked Yashasvi Jaiswal over Gill for the opening slot for the T20Is.
“Shubman Gill is obviously a quality player. But in the current scheme of things, Yashasvi will play. When Virat comes in, he will play. You would think, at present time, Shubman would find it hard to get into the XI“, Rohan Gavaskar said on Cricbuzz.

Notably, Gill had failed to capitalise the start in the first T20I and was dismissed after scoring 12-ball 23.
Meanwhile, Rohan also picked three players who are sure shot to get in the T20 World Cup squad.
“For me, the three absolute certainties should be Surya [Suryakumar], Yashasvi [Jaiswal] and Rinku [Singh]. I am not saying just in the squad, I am saying in the Playing XI”, Gavaskar added.
