The Hitman’s remarks come after the Men in Blue clinched a comfortable 8-wicket win over Ireland in their T20 World Cup opener. At the post-match presentation, Rohit admitted that he did not know what to expect from the pitch and that the team will prepare for IND vs PAK as if the conditions will remain the same.
Rohit Sharma reveals expectations from Nassau County pitch
“I don’t know what to expect from the pitch to be honest. We will prepare as if the conditions are going to be like this (for Pakistan game). This is going to be a kind of game where all XI of us will need to contribute. It was scratchy, but good to spend some time in the middle and understand what kind of shots to play there,” Rohit Sharma said at the post-match presentation.

The pitch, which is a drop-in pitch that was brought from Australia, has been highly unfavourable to the batters so far. Both games that have been held at the venue have been low-scoring wins, with teams unable to bring up three-figure scores. Similar to the first match in which SL were bundled out for 77 runs, India managed to restrict Ireland to just 96 runs before bowling them out. Uneven bounce and conditions favouring pacers was witnessed during both the innings.
