The cloud of doubt regarding the IPL 2025 Auction continues. For the second season in a row, the IPL auction is set to be held overseas. While discussions continue about IPL 2025 Auction taking place in end of November, Doha, Dubai and Saudi Arabia continue to be the favourites to host the auction.
It is the Middle East that is highly keen to host the auction. Back in 2024, the IPL Auction was held in Dubai. Since in 2025, it will be a mega auction, hence the auction will be held for a span of two days. In a bid to promote cricket in the middle east, Doha and Saudi Arabia have expressed strong interest to host the auction.

IPL Auction in Overseas?
As per latest reports, the much anticipated IPL Retention rules and the date for the auction is set to be announced within the next few days by the BCCI. It also remains to be seen as to how the RTM makes a comeback in the auction.
For the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the auction was held in Dubai last season. And seeing the success around it, the plan is to repeat the same. Furthermore, the middle east countries are also keen to promote cricket, and what would be the best way other than IPL to promote cricket?
As for the mega auction rules, the teams, the players and the thinktanks patiently wait for the BCCI to announce the rules, following which they can begin their preparations for the tournament.
