Dinesh Karthik to lead Tamil Nadu in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023-24

Dinesh Karthik is currently part of commentary panel for the Cricket World Cup.

Dinesh Karthik, who is currently handling the commentary duty in World Cup, has been appointed as captain of the Tamil Nadu team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, starting from November 25 in Mumbai.

The veteran wicket-keeper batter, last led the Tamil Nadu side in the 2021 season where he led the team to Syed Mushtaq Ali title win.

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) also announced the squad for the tournament. Sai Sudharsan, Sai Kishore, Shahrukh Khan, Sandeep Warrier and T. Natarajan are some of the star young players who have been included in the squad.

Washington Sundar led the Tamil Nadu side in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. But the all-rounder is likely to picked for the five-match IND vs AUS series, hence has been excluded from the squad.

The side had a disappointing outing in the domestic tournament, crashing out of the group stages.
