Dinesh Karthik was an interesting member of the commentary team for the 2021 WTC Final when team India lost the inaugural WTC Final that year against New Zealand at Southampton. Karthik burst onto the commentary scene in the English summer of 2021 and immediately charmed many fans across the world with his technical insights and humorous narrative.
Additionally, Dinesh Karthik will be seen commentating during Ashes 2023 for Sky Sports, which will primarily air the Test series in England and the UK along with the legend of games for International Cricket. The RCB finisher will be the only Indian player on the commentary team for Ashes 2023. The five-game Ashes series will be played at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Headingley, Old Trafford, and The Oval in June and July. Australia currently controls the Ashes after claiming a 4-0 series victory in 2021–2022.
Many suppose that this could be the end of Dinesh Karthik’s career in cricket as he will skip the TNPL 2023 to be a part of the commentary team in the Ashes 2023. The Royal Challengers Bangalore finisher managed to score only 140 runs in 13 games for his side in this year’s IPL. He was unable to play a single match-winning knock throughout the entire season.
