Dinesh Karthik, who announced his retirement from all forms of representative cricket on June 1, is all set to take part in the Legends League Cricket (LCC). The 2007 T20 World Cup winner will represent Southern Superstars in the upcoming edition of LCC, starting from next month.
Dinesh Karthik looking to ‘entertain’
Dinesh Karthik expressed his feelings about joining the Legends League Cricket: “Playing at the Legends League Cricket is definitely something I am looking forward to after my retirement. I am up to the task both mentally and physically and look forward to playing the brand of cricket I have always enjoyed. Most importantly, to the fans, thank you for your constant support and I hope to entertain you once again on the field.”
Another Indian great joined the LCC and it was none other than Shikhar Dhawan. The southpaw announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on August 24 and two days later, LCC broke the news of signing in Dhawan.
It is worth noting that Dinesh Karthik last played competitive cricket for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024. However, soon after, he was appointed as RCB’s batting coach and mentor for the next season. Also, DK is going to create history by becoming the first Indian to play in SA20. He will ply his trade for the Paarl Royals in SA20 2025.
