Dhoni-Dravid bond! Ex-CSK captain checks on injured RR coach after Guwahati thriller

Former Indian cricketers MS Dhoni and Rahul Dravid shared a heartwarming moment after RR vs CSK match in Guwahati

In a heartwarming moment, former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni was seen inquiring RR coach Rahul Dravid about his injury after RR vs CSK tie. The five-time champions lost to their opponents from the IPL 2008 final by 6 runs following some splendid death bowling by Sandeep Sharma. With that win, RR have now opened their account in IPL 2025.

Dhoni, Dravid share heartwarming moment

Visuals showed MS checking on Dravid after the completion of CSK vs RR tie. Dhoni was seen having a chat with Dravid, who was on the field with the support of crutches. Fans were reminded of MSD’s words about “The Wall” when he had earlier said that Dravid’s dedication was as such that he would turn up for a team on a wheelchair.

Earlier on Sunday, the RR coach was seen inspecting the Guwahati pitch on a wheelchair. Dravid injured his leg while playing club cricket alongside his son in Karnataka just before IPL 2025.

What happened in RR vs CSK match?

CSK failed to chase down the 183-run target, marking the ninth game since 2021 where they haven’t been able to chase down a 175+ run target. Rahul Tripathi failed to fire at the top and had another poor outing. Rachin Raindra was dismissed for a duck, thanks to a fiery opening over from Archer.

Skipper Gaikwad (63) was the only star performer for the side in the tie in Guwahati. Jadeja (32) and Dhoni (11) were at the crease in the last over when CSK needed 21 runs. However, Dhoni was dismissed and the curtains were brought down on CSK’s run-chase.
