Dharamshala Cricket Stadium: In Dharamsala, Indian Premier League (IPL) games will be played for the first time in roughly nine years. And ahead of those IPL 2023 matches, the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA Stadium), which is situated in an area subject to frequent downpours, has installed a cutting-edge sub-air system in place to make sure that games are not postponed because of soggy pitches.

On May 17 and 19, Dharamsala will host two IPL 2023 games. In this picturesque stadium, Punjab Kings (PBKS) will compete against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

In 2013, Dharamsala played host to the final IPL game. Since then, no IPL game has been played here because of a legal dispute between the then-Congress administration and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) over ownership of the Dharamsala Stadium.

It was decided that the installation of the modern sub-air system was required after a number of games, including IPL games, were previously postponed or suspended due to rain delays. The stadium is now more prepared to endure the region’s erratic weather thanks to the new technology that has been installed.

According to Deepak, a tour guide, there would be a significant increase in tourists for a week in May due to the two IPL games. He told Tribune, “Bookings for the season have already begun to pick up.”

There are 25,000 seats available at the Dharamsala stadium. Numerous tourists and cricket fans used to attend the IPL games in the stadium.
