Indian players Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh Thakur have gone up in T20I rankings, despite the Indian team failing to make it to the semis of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The duo bagged 11 wickets together in the tournament, giving breakthroughs for India regularly.
While Renuka gained two spots, Deepti went up a rung to be combined third in the women’s T20I rankings for bowlers. England’s Sophie Ecclestone continues to top the charts. The latter has picked up four wickets in three matches so far and have, more or less, qualified for the semis.
Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur went up a place in the batters ranking at 11th, and Shafali Verma dropped a place to be 12th. Smriti Mandhana remains the best-placed Indian at fifth spot. As far as the best all-rounders are concerned, Deepti Sharma remains at the fourth-spot.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s Team Fails at T20 World Cup 2024
After losing the first match to New Zealand by over 50 runs, Team India’s chances to qualify for the semis had diminished significantly. Then they went on to beat Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, but then lost to Australia again. That wasn’t enough for them to make it to the semis.
