Despite playing in Super 8, Co-hosts USA doesn’t have single TV commentator representing them on TV

For now, the situation is unlikely to change with no fresh faces planned to be introduced in the coming days.

USA have exceeded expectations in the ongoing T20 World Cup by reaching the Super Eight stage. From a group consisting of India and Pakistan, for co-hosts USA to go through took immense effort and the team completed that journey. However, despite USA’s outstanding performance, not a single commentator from the country will be a part of the broadcasting team during USA’s Super Eight matches.

No commentary by countryman during USA matches

The above statement may sound shocking, but it is nothing but a fact that seems too good to be true. Compared to other sports, Aaron Jones’ team may have less interest in cricket but to not have a single voice airing the opinion of the country, specially during their own matches, seems criminal.

Moreover, at a time when even non-playing nations such as Brazil are dedicating a team to cover the T20 World Cup in their own language, USA omitting any countryman from the broadcast list has left many to question the strategy on social media.

For now, the situation is unlikely to change with no fresh faces planned to be introduced in the coming days. However. these kind of moves can be a huge stumbling block to USA’s bid to make cricket more popular in the region.
