Right now, a case can be made to label Sarfaraz Khan the most unlucky cricketer in the world. Despite good performances in domestic cricket and India A tours, the batter finds himself out of the reckoning when it comes to the India cricket team. Sarfaraz had ‘gotten lucky‘ when BCCI announced he would be the part of the India A vs South Africa A series.
He made full use of the chance given to him. Sarfaraz Khan scored a crucial 68 off 85 balls in the 1st unofficial Test, stitching a 130-run stand with centurion Pradosh Paul.
His contribution helped India A go past the 400-run mark and eventually hold out a draw. However, his performance has gone unnoticed once again.

Sarfaraz Khan finds himself under the axe once again
Varied reasons, from fitness to conduct on and off the field, have been given for his exclusion in the past. This time, the batter finds himself missing out due to making way for players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav.
The reasoning behind Sarfaraz’s omission isn’t his performance, fitness, or conduct but to accommodate players who could be in the playing XI for the IND vs SA 1st Test in Centurion.
