Harry Brook cursed his rotten luck as the England batter had a forgettable dismissal in the Ashes 1st Test. The rising English star was looking well set before a freak dismissal cut off his stay in the ENG vs AUS 1st Test. Brook’s dismissal left fans and experts flabbergasted as the 23-year-old made a long walk back to the pavilion.

Harry Brook was unlucky to be out in the most unusual manner against Australia on Day 1 of the Ashes 2023 at Edgbaston. The ball took a nick off Brook’s bat, smacked his body, and bounced into the stumps, rattling the bails.

To add to the ‘freak’ nature of the dismissal, the Australian players all lunged for the catch after Brook nicked the ball, but none of them could get close enough, losing sight of the ball as it travelled back and rattled the stumps.

Brook faced Nathan Lyon and was delivered a straightish ball; he attempted a shot towards the leg side but the ball took a nick off his bat; Australian keeper Alex Carey went for the catch but lost sight of the ball completely as it took a deflection from the batter and rattled the stumps.

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting stated of his ejection, “Desperately unlucky.” I’ve seen a lot of dismissals, but none like that.”
