A Delhi U19 cricketer has landed his parents and himself in trouble for fabricating his age to pave way for his inclusion in the team.

A Delhi U19 cricketer has landed his parents and himself in trouble for fabricating his age to pave way for his inclusion in the team. An FIR has been lodged against the player and his parents for producing a ‘forged and fabricated’ birth certificate. The complainant, Anand Singh, claims that the parents forged the certificate and concealed the actual date of birth.

Delhi U19 cricketer accused of age fraud

As per the complaint, the player is accused of producing the fake certificate and appearing for trials in 2021-22. He was reportedly selected for the side after the trials.

Further, the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) secretary who was supposed to “conduct due diligence including checking of Aadhar card history of the candidate deliberately ignored the record as Aadhar history of the player would have revealed change in date of birth.”
