According to the police, a woman was detained on Tuesday for allegedly attempting to extort money from Shabnam Singh, the mother of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
DCP (East) Nitish Aggarwal as per Indian Express said, “The accused was employed last year as a caretaker for Yuvraj Singh younger brother. She was let go from work after her work seemed unsatisfactory. However, a year later, the complainant got a call from the accused stating that she would defame the family by filing a false case if they don’t pay her Rs 40 lakh.”

According to the police, Singh complained to DLF Phase 1 police station that she had hired a caretaker to watch over her son. But she was fired due to her inappropriate conduct and behaviour. On Monday, a FIR was filed in accordance with the necessary laws.
The accused was allegedly spotted accepting Rs. 5 lakh, which was a portion of the money she had requested from the complainant, from a Gurgaon mall on Tuesday, according to the police. The defendant resides in South Delhi.
An investigation, according to police, is ongoing.
