WPL 2024: Delhi Capitals secure WPL 2024 Finals spot with 7 wicket win after dominating win against Gujarat Giants

Delhi Capitals comfortably defeated Gujarat Giants in the final game of WPL 2024 to finish at the top of the table. Shafali Varma’s heroic fifty was enough to help the Capitals stage a 7 wicket win with 7 overs to fair. Tasked to chase 127 runs. Varma and Jemimah Rordigues hammered the opposition to secure a stunning win for the Capitals.

Gujarat Giants headed into the dead rubber game. But most importantly, with this win, DC secure their spot in the finals of the WPL 2024. The Capitals will face thew winner of RCB vs UPW in the all important final on 17th March.

Batting first, Gujarat failed to put up a good score. The Capitals triggered a batting collapse. However, a brave 42-run knock from Bharati Fulmali helped her side post a decent score on the board. Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey and Minnu Mani bagged 2 wickets apiece to send the Giants packing.

However, Delhi Capitals began their run chase in a strong manner. Skipper Meg Lanning managed to score 18 runs, while Alice Capsey departed for a suck. But Shafali Varma continued her carnage. The youngster hammered 7 fours and 5 sixes to score 71 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues remained unbeaten to add finishing touches to the rampant run chase.
