Delhi Capitals have suffered a huge blow as Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2024. As per ESPNCricinfo, the cricketer – who returned to Australia earlier this month – has been ruled out of the tournament owing to a hamstring injury.
No more Mitchell Marsh for DC in IPL 2024
“I don’t think he’ll be coming back,” Ponting said. “There’s a certain cut off point with replacement players. Cricket Australia were keen to have him at home to start his recovery process and we sent him back as soon as we could.
“They’ve been managing his rehab for a couple of weeks now. I spoke to him the other day and it seems it’s taken a little longer than he first thought to get over it. I don’t think the T20 World Cup would be an issue.”

As per an earlier report, Marsh had left for Australia after the side’s loss to Mumbai Indians. DC assistant coach Pravin Amre had earlier confirmed the same after the MI vs DC match.
“A few of our players are injured, and the worrying sign is Mitch Marsh,” Amre had said. “He has gone for a scan and the physios will give us a report in a week’s time. Then we will come to know what the exact situation is. Whether he can [play the entire season] or not depends on the reports.”
