Deepak Chahar’s sister slams trolls, comes to CSK star’s defence after being trolled for injury

Deepak Chahar has had a long history of injuries, he even missed out on IPL 2022 season due to hamstring injury

Deepak Chahar’s sister, Malti Chahar, has come to his defence after he sustained an injury during Chennai Super Kings’ game against Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match, held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, May 1, saw Chahar walk off the pitch due to his injury.

Deepak Chahar started his over well, with a dot ball, but soon limped after conceding a boundary to Prabhsimran Singh. After just two deliveries, he consulted with his skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and decided to leave the field limping after sustaining a hamstring injury. Shardul Thakur completed the remaining balls of the over.

Deepak Chahar’s sister comes to his support

Chahar’s injury attracted criticism from various quarters, with many questioning his fitness. However, his sister, Malti, took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out critics for their insensitive comments. “Stop being so insensitive, guys! Nobody is enjoying these injuries! He is trying his best and he will come back stronger!” Malti Chahar tweeted.

How can CSK qualify for IPL 2024 Playoffs?

The game ended in a loss for Chennai Super Kings, who went down by seven wickets to Punjab Kings. Despite the defeat, CSK remains in fourth place with 10 points from 10 games. However, their position could change if Sunrisers Hyderabad or Delhi Capitals win their upcoming matches.

CSK’s path to the playoffs is not easy. With a competition that has 10 teams, 16 points have been the benchmark to secure a top-four spot. This means CSK can afford to lose only one more match in their remaining fixtures. If they win all their games against Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, CSK will be in a strong position to advance to the playoffs with 18 points.

However, if CSK loses another game, they will have to rely on other results to work in their favor to remain in the running for the playoffs.
