Deepak Chahar unlikely, what will be India’s bowling line-up in IND vs SA 1st T20?

With Deepak Chahar likely to miss the 1st IND vs SA T20, here’s how India’s bowling line-up is likely to look like

India may in trouble as pacer Deepak Chahar might miss out on the 1st IND vs SA T20 set to take place on December 10. Chahar returned home in between the India-Australia series as his father suffered a brain stroke. With the CSK pacer most likely to miss the 1st T20, here’s what India’s bowling line-up might look like.

What will be India’s bowling line-up sans Chahar?

Deepak Chahar was a part of both the ODI and T20 squads for India for their series against South Africa. However, in case he fails to make it to the first T20I, India do have backup that includes four pacers. Chahar has played 25 T20Is so far and has 31 scalps to his name, having made his debut in 2018.

Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Siraj, Mukesh Kumar and Prasidh Krishna are likely to be India’s pacers in the 1st T20 vs SA. Ravindra Jadeja, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar are India’s spin options. Even though Chahar’s absence might hurt India, the visiting side’s bowling line-up looks pretty bold.

Here’s how India’s bowling line-up for the 1st T20I vs SA will possibly look like:

  1. Mohammad Siraj
  2. Prasidh Krishna
  3. Mukesh Kumar
  4. Kuldeep Yadav
  5. Ravindra Jadeja

Deepak Chahar uncertain for IND vs SA

In a conversation with Sports Tak, Deepak Chahar shared, “For me, my father is very important. He made me the player I am. I cannot leave him in this condition and couldn’t go anywhere.” The pacer assured that he had communicated with coach Rahul Dravid and the selectors, expressing his commitment to the team once his father’s health allows.

“We got him to the hospital on time. Else, it could have been dangerous. His condition is better at the moment,” Deepak Chahar revealed, providing a glimpse into the challenging situation he and his family are navigating.

When asked about his return to the team for the South Africa tour, Chahar emphasized that it solely depends on his father’s health. “It depends on my father’s health. Right now, I can’t leave him and go,” he stated, underscoring the significance of family bonds in the face of personal and professional commitments.
