Youngster Dewald Brewis recently received his maiden call-up as South Africa named gear up for the upcoming bilateral series against Australia, Starting August 30. The promising youngster, who plays for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, bagged a spot in the squad following his impressive performances in the domestic circuit and various T20 leagues. Meanwhile, Brevis said that he is excited for the series and want to just run straight into the Aussies.

“I must say I am so excited because it’s going to be proper heat and lots of fighting so I can’t wait for that,” Brevis said. “I always like it so I can’t wait to go out there and just run straight into them, give your best. “It’s going to be exciting because they are one of the top cricketing nations so it’s going to be good cricket and hard cricket,” Brevis said in an interview with ESPN Cricinfo.
“It’s really been amazing, these last few days because a dream has come true for me,” he said. “From a very young age, I’ve wanted to be part of this amazing set-up of the Proteas. It’s been an honour and it’s been wonderful to live my dream and to spend time with the team. Couldn’t have asked for anything better,” Brevis added.
The 20-year-old youngster has played 7 matches in the Indian Premier League and scored 161 runs. Brevis is known for the ability to bat at a high strike rate and change the momentum of games after batting very short spells. However, his skills will be put to test in front of a strong Aussie bowling line-up.
