De Villiers NGO: RCB legend AB de Villiers loves India, and it is no secret. He is one of the most loved foreign players in the country. The former South Africa captain has gone a step ahead and joined hands with an NGO, Make a Difference (MAD) to mentor underprivileged children in the country realise their career potential. This initiative of De Villiers will further establish him as one of the favourite foreign cricketers in India.

“India has been incredibly kind to me over the years, and I am always looking for ways to give something back. I am happy to be associated with MAD and will mentor two young people supported by the team,” de Villiers said on the new association.

“The NGO offers consistent support to children born into extremely difficult circumstances until they break the cycle of poverty. Their work is incredible.”

He is set to mentor two beneficiaries for the next six months. As per the program, they are 18-year-old Ayan from Lucknow and 21-year-old Anitha from Bengaluru.

“The uniqueness of our model lies in its being volunteer-driven and we are simply delighted at having a global sporting icon like AB de Villiers supporting us. Mr. 360, as he is fondly known in India, and his support for our organisation will further strengthen our resolve to help children in need of care and protection. Thank you, AB,” said Nithin Nedumala CEO of MAD.
