Dragons never appeared to be in any difficulty as they completed the task of chasing 121 in 14.5 overs. Varun Chakravarthy was the most effective bowler for the Dragons, taking three wickets.
In contrast, Siechem Madurai Panthers were trounced by the Nellai Royal Kings in their first game of the season. As Madurai batted first, they only scored 126 runs in the allowed 20 overs. Hari Nishaanth, the captain of the Panthers, batted brilliantly as he accumulated a fifty as they chases down the target in just 13.4 overs.
