Shubman Gill: Shahneel Gill – DCW has promised to take strict action against those who abused Shubman Gill’s sister Shahneel on social media. GT opener’s sibling was subject to unnecessary hate from a few sick RCB fans after Gill knocked their team out of the playoffs race with a scintillating hundred. Like they did during Virat Kohli’s case when Vamika was abused on social media, DCW will probe into the matter and will punish the fans who abused Shahneel Gill. IPL 2023: DCW Chief Swati Maliwal slams trollers for abusing Shubman’s sister, says offenders will be punished
DCW chief Swati Maliwal has slammed trollers for unnecessarily abusing GT’s opener’s sister Shahneel. After Gill sent the ball sailing towards the Chinnaswamy crowd, a few sick RCB fans spammed Shahneel’s account and started abusing her. Shubman also faced a lot of hate from the fans. DCW chief said this type of behavior won’t be tolerated, and the offenders will not be let Scot free.
“Extremely shameful to see trollers abusing #ShubhmanGill’s sister just because the team they follow lost a match. Previously we had initiated action against people abusing #ViratKohli’s daughter. DCW will take action against all those who have abused Gill’s sister as well. This shall not be tolerated!” she said in a tweet.
IPL 2023: Shubman Gill continues to sizzle in IPL 2023, breaches 700 runs, GT eye finals berth against CSK
Speaking about Gill, the right-hand batter has continued his purple patch in IPL 2023 season. The 23-year-old slammed two back-to-back centuries and powered GT into playoffs. Gill also scored a fighting 43 in Qualifier One game against CSK, but that was not enough in the end, as GT fell short by 15 runs.
Nonetheless, GT get another crack at the finals spot as they will play the winner of the eliminator game on Friday at Ahmedabad.
