“I’m enjoying wearing the cap, I’m enjoying the way I’m timing the ball. Not very true, this surface, it stopped a bit, and we had to plan the game according to the wicket. So it was good to go out there and secure a win. I consciously made an effort to increase the tempo and strike-rate, because I wanted to be impacful player for my side. It was just about the execution. Absolutely enjoying being at the top of the table,” Dhawan said post-match as quoted by Cricbuzz.
Dhawan had also amassed 618 runs in 17 matches for DC in the last season. It had also featured a couple of centuries. Back-to-back excellent knocks could help him being considered in the T20 World Cup if any main player gets injured.

T20 World Cup snub
Dhawan had missed his place in the 15-member squad as KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma were considered favourites. He was not even included in the reserve as selectors cited his drop as a much-needed break. The decision was taken even he had led the second-string India squad in the recently-concluded limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. He had slammed 46, 46 and 0 in the T20 series.
