It must be noted that Green was bought for a whopping INR 17.50 crore by MI at the IPL mini-auction held in December 2022. However, the 23-year-old has failed to justify his price tag. So far, he has scored of 5 and 12 to his name in the first two matches. With the ball, he has picked up just one wicket and given away 50 runs in five overs.
In a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their social media handles, Green could be seen having a discussion with Tendulkar. During a media interaction, Green explained that Tendulkar suggested him to keep the bat face slightly closed in red-ball cricket to keep the ball on the ground and open it up in white-ball cricket to access balls on the off-side.
“Obviously, whenever Sachin talks, you listen. He was talking about maybe in red-ball cricket, the bat is a slightly closed face to keep balls on the ground but in a white ball potentially opening up the face of the bat helps you to access balls on the offside and maybe the trajectory as well. So that was the talk,” said Green was quoted as saying by News18.
