End of innings

A single comes off the last ball of the over and KKR end the innings at 272/7. What an incredible effort from Kolkata here.

Ishant has another wicket here. This time it is Ramandeep Singh who departs for 2 only.

Rinku out

On the last ball of the 19th over, Rinku is out for 26. The score moves to 264/5.

Salt falls

After being dropped twice in a span of few deliveries, Salt is finally caught by Stubbs at mid on. He is out for 18 from 12 as KKR 60/1.

And again.

Kolkata Knight Riders are off to a flier here. Narine and Salt smash 26 runs in Ishant’s over. It’s 58/0 after 4 overs.

Iyer says..

We’ll bat first. The wicket looks like a belter, no drastic change in the wicket when compared to the last game. It’s been quite a journey, was a with Delhi and now with KKR, I’m comfortable with this switch. Anything can happen on a given day, it’s important to stick to the process. We’ve Sunil (Narine) coming in and going after the bowlers in the first 6 overs, so his role is very clear and the rest know what’s expected of them.

Pant says..

We would have batted first as well, could get a bit slower. It was nice to be back with the group, but I’m not thinking too far ahead. Thew bowlers did a great job, the fast bowlers, and we’d like them to do it once again. Not thinking about the team combination for the first two games, but we’ve had people working hard in the nets. We just need to keep doing the right things – one change, Mukesh is injured and he’s replaced by Sumit.

KKR opt to bat

And there you go. KKR have won the toss and opted to bat.

Pant misses catch on very first delivery!

Rishabh Pant manages to get a hand to a delivery off Khaleel Ahmed as Salt edges it. KKR get 4 runs via byes as DC let early chance slip.
