DC vs GT LIVE: The Delhi Capitals will travel to their home at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi to take on the reigning champion Gujarat Titans in an effort to bag their first win of the Indian Premier League 2023. After a disappointing defeat against the Lucknow Super Giants in their season opener, the Capitals and their skipper David Warner will have a reason to rejoice as Proteas stars Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, and Bangladesh’s top pacer Mustafizur Rahman will be available for their next match, which will give them a leg up. As South Africa’s ODI series against the Netherlands is done and dusted, Nortje and Lungi will be in the DC camp ahead of their clash against the Titans on Tuesday. While Mustafizur had already arrived in India on Saturday, he was absent from his team’s opening game.
A few adjustments for DC may be in store with the return of the pace trio. Nortje will most probably replace his countrymen, Rilee Rossouw. Additionally, one of Chetan Sakariya or Mukesh Kumar could be replaced by an additional batter like Manish Pandey, who can play at either position.
The Capitals batted, fielded, and bowled poorly in their first game against LSG. They chose to ball first, and gave up lots of runs and dropped catches as well. Their bowlers gave up 193 runs because of poor fielding and bowling. Against Mark Wood’s speed, they appeared clueless. Although not at his most fluid, skipper David Warner hit a half-century. They struggled, scoring only 143 runs, losing the contest by runs.
Going into their next clash against the Titans, the arrival of Nortje, Ngidi, and Mustafizur will undoubtedly provide a much-needed boost to the Delhi Capitals’ bowling attack. Their skills as fast bowlers are well-known, and they are expected to complement the likes of Mitchell Marsh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Ishant Sharma.
