DC vs GT: Delhi Capitals are taking on the defending champions Gujarat Giants in their first home encounter of the Indian Premier League in Delhi. Meanwhile, the visitors won the toss and opted to have a bowl first. The Capitals camp also handed the debut cap to youngster Abishek Porel who will keep the wickets instead of Sarfaraz Khan who did the keeping duties in DC’s tournament opener. To note, Porel is replacing the Capital’s skipper Rishabh Pant who will not take part in the IPL 2023 after sustaining injuries last year in an accident. “Looks like a nice wicket. Have to come out with positive intent and post a good total. It’s awesome. What a good turnout it is tonight. Hopefully we can make it our fortress. Anrich and Porel come in. Rovman misses out. It’s a long tournament, going to be a few harsh calls,” Warner said at the toss.
Delhi Capitals’ star player Rishabh Pant is all set to make his first appearance at a cricket ground after suffering a horrific car crash last year in December. Meanwhile, the Capitals lost their first wicket in form of Prithvi Shaw. The defending champions are bowling some decent line and length.
