A fresh development has emerged from the world of IPL. Delhi Capitals‘ new recruit KL Rahul could sit out of the first two matches for the franchise, as per Australia women’s captain Alyssa Healy. The Bengaluru player was bagged for a massive 14 Cr by the franchise, but could sit out of some fixtures, due to the birth of his child.
KL Rahul To Miss Few Games for DC?
According to Healy, who happens to be DC member Mitchell Starc’s wife, the team could have some problems given that there is no Harry Brook too, in the team now. “No Harry Brook, (so) it will be interesting to see who the replacement player will be. They have KL Rahul, who will probably not play the first couple of games I think… they are awaiting the birth of (their) child, but that dynamic, is really cool.”

“They have that power in the young guys but they also have a KL Rahul who can stitch the innings in T20 cricket. He’s going to be really exciting to watch,” Healy added on YouTube channel LiSTNR Sport. Earlier at the IPL Auction, the franchise had let go Rishabh Pant, and later made Axar Patel the captain.
If that does hold true, it will be a challenge for the DC management to come up with a sound batting line-up. Maybe the team might consider someone like a Karun Nair in the middle-order, or even Ashutosh Sharma, who wouldn’t have made the XI, if not for KL Rahul’s absence.
