It is beyond any doubt that DC, at the recent IPL Auction 2025, managed to compile a squad that would give jitters to any opposition. Not just the team has a complete batting line-up, but also boast of a bowling line-up that can finally land them the IPL championships. From fast bowlers, to medium pacers, to leg spinners, to finger spinners — the team has it all.
InsideSport takes a look at how their bowling line up would look like during the tournament.
Axar Patel & Kuldeep Yadav Main Spinners
After letting go Rishabh Pant, DC made sure, they did not compromise in the spin department, and retained Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. In 82 matches, Axar has 62 wickets for the team, and most importantly, he has an economy rate of 7.06 only. On the other hand, Kuldeep, in 39 matches has picked up 47 wickets — so both of them are certain starters for the team.
Mitchell Starc, Mohit Sharma, T Natarajan In
Their bowling will further be solidified with the presence of Mitchell Starc, Mohit Sharma and T Natarajan. Starc started slowly for KKR in IPL 2024 but ended with 17 wickets in 14 matches eventually. Mohit Sharma was decent with 13 scalps in 12 matches for GT, and Nattu was excellent for SRH with 19 wickets in 14 matches. These three combined, perhaps make the best fast-bowling unit for IPL 2025.
Replacement Options
If for some reason, DC doesn’t want to opt for these bowlers, they also have Mukesh Kumar, Darshan Nalkande, and Dushmantha Chameera, who can be equally effective on their day. In fact, this is what makes them a formidable unit.
