DC, on the first day of the IPL 2025 Auction would consider themselves very lucky to have bagged KL Rahul for only 14 Cr. They did everything in their capacity to RTM Rishabh Pant too, but that did not happen. Having said that, their team seems to have taken a good shape, with a mix of batters and bowlers.
They went on to spend 59.2 Cr on the first day of the IPL Auction and have to still be very careful, as to how they go about the proceedings on day two. InsideSport takes a look at the the number of slots DC need to fill, their purse and the players they should be aiming to get.
DC Current Squad and Slots Remaining
DC need to bag at least four players for their squad. With a purse of 13.80 Cr, they do have a good enough purse to target some of the top players. Meanwhile, they have the quota of four players remaining as well. So that must be on their radar too.

The team has a purse of 13.80 Cr left. They spent heavily on Mitchell Starc and T Natarajan. They also spent a fortune on retaining Axar Patel (16.5 Cr), and Kuldeep Yadav (13.75 Cr).
Gaps to Fill at IPL Auction 2025 Day 2
The team has enough batters for now, but they would have to spend some money on strengthening the bowling unit. Marco Jansen and Sam Curran could be two foreign picks that would fit well in DC. The team should also consider buying someone like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has an excellent economy rate.
