In what came as a body blow for the Delhi Capitals (DC), they are missing their overseas star David Warner from the clash against the Gujarat Titans (GT). The two teams are currently locking horns in Match 32 of IPL 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first against GT, DC skipper Rishabh Pant said, “We’re looking at gaining some momentum. We’re playing almost the same team – David Warner is sitting out, Sumit Kumar is back.”
On the eve of the GT vs DC clash, Delhi’s head coach Ricky Ponting expressed that the team will keep their ‘fingers crossed’ for Warner, who did his X-Ray scans for his thumb, that got hit during DC’s clash against LSG. However, Ponting feared that there was a bit swelling on Warner’s thumb, which has ultimately led him to the bench for the clash against GT.
