David Warner shone with the bat in his final international innings at home for Australia in the AUS vs WI 3rd T20I in Perth on Tuesday, February 13.
Chasing 221, the explosive opener smashed 81 runs off 49 balls to keep the hosts in the hunt. However, his blistering knock vent in vain as West Indies secure a consolation win the final T20I to avoid a whitewash.
Notably, Warner earlier announced that he will retire from international cricket following the ICC T20 World Cup later this year.
“I’m well and truly done, it’s time for the youngsters to come through and show their talent”, Warner said after playing his final international innings in front of his home crowd.
Warner completes 3000 T20I runs
The Australian opener, who recently complete the milestone of reaching 100 T20Is, completed 3,000 runs during his innings.
He is the second Australian after Aaron Finch and seventh batter overall to accomplish the mark.
