Their star pacer, Matheesha Pathirana, has returned to the squad after missing three of the side’s five matches in the IPL 2024 so far. CSK coach wasn’t certain about Matheesha Pathirana
A day before the match, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said that he was happy with the progress Pathirana has made but wasn’t one hundred percent sure about his availability for the MI vs CSK match. He said:
“It was not as bad as what we had thought, so we are very hopeful that if not tomorrow, then very close. We know the importance of him in games like this, but we will make sure he is 100 percent in this form.”
