Chennai Super Kings in IPL final: Chennai Super Kings have been one of the most dominant sides in the IPL since its inception in 2008. Barring just one season, the MS Dhoni-led side has managed to reach each of the IPL playoffs to date. While the WhistlePodu Army has won three IPL titles, it has reached the final a record nine times. Also, CSK was the first franchise to win back-to-back IPL titles in 2010 and 2011. IPL 2008 Final – CSK vs RR – RR won by 3 wickets

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals featured in the inaugural final of the league which MS Dhoni-led side lost the game by 3 wickets off the final delivery of the match.

IPL 2010 Final – CSK vs MI – CSK won by 22 runs

Chennai Super Kings lifted their first-ever IPL trophy in the 2010 edition after securing 22 runs win over Mumbai Indians.

2011 – CSK vs RCB – CSK won by 58 runs 

In 2011, CSK became the first team to win back-to-back IPL finals by securing 58 runs win over RCB in the final. MS Dhoni-led outfit also won all its home games and became the first team in IPL to achieve the feat.

2012 – CSK vs KKR – KKR won by 5 wickets

In 2012, Chennai Super Kings suffered 5 wickets defeat by Gautam Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders who lifted their first-ever IPL title.

2013 – CSK vs MI – MI won by 23 runs

In 2013, MS Dhoni-led side failed to win their third title as they suffered 23 runs defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians who won their first-ever IPL title.

2015 – CSK vs MI – MI beat CSK by 41 runs

In 2015, MI once again denied CSK their third title and went on to win their second IPL trophy by defeating CSK 41 runs.

2018 – CSK vs SRH – CSK won by 8 wickets

In 2018, CSK finally managed its third IPL title win. Returning after two years suspension, CSK was dominant throughout the season and registered 8 wickets win over SRH.

2019 – CSK vs MI – MI won by 1 run

In 2019, CSK was on the verge of writing the history of winning two back-to-back titles but Mumbai Indians denied them of this feat by just a narrow 1 run win.
