- Faf du Plessis became the only 3rd batsman to complete 600 runs in IPL 2021 after Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul and teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad. He achieved the landmark in his 100th innings of IPL.
- He smashed 86 at a strike rate of 145 when it mattered the most for the yellow army.
- The experienced batsman expressed enough maturity to score his 6th fifty and provide a cracking start for CSK in their bid for the 4th IPL trophy.
- He also shared fifty partnerships with Robin Uthappa and Gaikwad to set the tempo for CSK for a top finish with the bat.

Faf du Plessis also shared a special record with Gaikwad as the duo added 750+ runs in IPL 2021. It speaks volumes about their contributions as CSK completed a dramatic turn to enter the finals after a forgetful season in UAE last year.
