Tushar Deshpande earns BCCI fast bowlers’ contract ahead of India vs Zimbabwe T20I series

With his maiden India call-up and a BCCI fast-bowling contract in hand, Tushar Deshpande's cricketing future looks bright.

Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Tushar Deshpande has received a major boost to his cricketing career. He has been awarded a fast-bowling contract by the BCCI, adding to his recent selection in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Consistent Tushar Deshpande

Tushar Deshpande’s impressive bowling displays haven’t gone unnoticed. He has been a consistent performer for both Mumbai and the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL over the past two seasons.

This, coupled with his significant improvement over the last year and a half, has convinced the BCCI to invest in him as per TOI.

String of successes for Tushar Deshpande

Tushar Deshpande’s recent cricketing achievements are undeniable. He played a pivotal role in Mumbai’s triumph in the 42nd Ranji Trophy, taking a total of 15 wickets across five matches.

This followed a successful 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season where he claimed 23 wickets in just six matches.

He further showcased his talent earlier this year, taking 15 wickets in five matches for India A against England A.

Joining elite group with BCCI

Deshpande is not alone in receiving a fast-bowling contract. He joins a group of talented quicks, including Mayank Yadav (Delhi & LSG), Akash Deep (Bengal & RCB), Vijaykumar Vyshak (RCB), Umran Malik (Jammu & Kashmir & SRH), Yash Dayal (Uttar Pradesh & RCB), and Vidwath Kaverappa (Karnataka).
