No Place for Sam Curran? Curran may be available for selection, CSK are likely to persist with Dwayne Bravo & Hazlewood. Bravo offers relatively better death-bowling pedigree besides hitting abilities that were on display in last match.

Probable XI: Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu / Robin Uthappa, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (c&wk), Dwayne Bravo/Sam Curran, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood

CSK Playing XI vs RCB: MS Dhoni’s CSK set to field unchanged XI against RCB, no place for Sam Curran?

CSK Playing XI – RCB vs CSK IPL 2021, how Sam Curran can fit in CSK XI? The Kohli vs Dhoni will be played at Sharjah, a graveyard for the bowlers. Had the match been played at Dubai International Stadium, MS Dhoni would have picked the same XI with Josh Hazlewood leading the pace attack without a moment of hesitation.

But Sharjah’s flat pitch and shorter boundaries will need greater batting depth to deal with. That is where Sam Curran becomes a discussion. The English bowling all-rounder has shown his batting ability time and again and was only shinning light in team’s IPL 2020 depressing display.

CSK Playing XI – RCB vs CSK IPL 2021, how Sam Curran can fit in CSK XI? Sam Curran has 18 First Class half-centuries, 6 fifties in T20s and a half-century in IPL. But how to fit Curran in XI?

The question is, who CSK can they drop among Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Bravo and Josh Hazlewood to fit Curran in?

Super Kings could think of bringing in Curran for du Plessis who looked out of touch in last match – but then the problem comes who open CSK’s batting? It’s a decision which will not come easy for CSK – overall in all likelihood, Sam Curran will have to wait for his chance.

Is Ambati Rayudu fit to be in XI? The fitness of Ambati Rayudu is little questionable though both the batsman himself as well as coach Stephen Fleming said it was nothing to worry.

The X-ray showed no fracture for Rayudu, but if not fully fit he could be rested and Robin Uthappa can be brought in XI.

As for other positions, Chennai Super Kings will not tinker with the winning combination and keep them intact barring any late injuries.
