DC vs CSK LIVE Qualifier 1: Chennai Super Kings have lost form at the key moment, having lost their last three games heading into the Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2021 Playoffs. CSK’s batting has struggled, with their middle-order seemingly struggling to keep up with the truckload of runs their openers get them.
The absence of Raina, despite his own patchy form, has hurt CSK, and MS Dhoni will hope that he can have his trusted lieutenant back to the XI for the game. Head coach Stephen Fleming has maintained silence over Raina’s update, stating that is still uncertain that the left-haner returns from a knee injury.
Robin Uthappa has replaced Raina in the XI, but hasn’t had much of an impact on the games he has played so far. Dhoni is likely to continue with the veteran if Raina stays unavailable.
Will Dominic Drakes replace Josh Hazlewood? The other option could see Dhoni boost his all-round options, with potentially new acquisition Dominic Drakes coming in for Josh Hazlewood.
The Australian has been impressive but was taken for runs in the last two games, while Drakes provides much-needed firepower with both bat and ball. Drakes, who replaced the injured Sam Curran, is in fine form, and starred in the CPL final, helping Dwayne Bravo’s side seal the title.
