Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might have just been dealt with another blow ahead of IPL 2024. Their latest recruit, Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman, was stretchered off the field during BAN vs SL 3rd ODI. CSK will begin their campaign by facing off against RCB in the IPL 2024 opener on March 22.
CSK suffer yet another injury scare, this time Mustafizur
Rahman was stretchered off the field after suffering from severe cramps during the 3rd ODI vs SL. He even collapsed to the ground after bowling the last ball of the 42nd over. The possible reason for the cramps was playing under the sweltering sun in Chittagong.
While Rahman attempted a comeback in the 48th over, he simply couldn’t succeed. Rahman’s injury scare comes as the latest blow to CSK. The five-time champs are already grappling with the injury of Matheesha Pathirana, whose replacement was expected to be Mustafizur.

Matheesha Pathirana injury
“He is one of our premier bowlers,” said a senior CSK official to TOI, highlighting the significance of Pathirana’s absence.
His ability to take wickets in the crucial death overs was a key factor in CSK’s success last year. This early-season blow leaves a gap in the team’s bowling attack.
