Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming notes that it is positive to have an all-round contribution from the team. The Kiwi star’s remarks come on the eve of CSK vs GT which will take place today at 7.30 PM. The CSK coach Fleming sheds light on the change made by team in terms of strong intent and offers a glimpse into the side’s roadmap for IPL 2024.
CSK’s change of strong intent
“From our point of view, it’s probably the intent. In the years we don’t do well, we look at why and we rectify that. And one of the changes was very strong intent,” CSK coach Fleming said.
He notes that the team often doesn’t get a victory just because of one big score. He adds that while that is the aim, it isn’t always possible for one player to get a 75-run+ score.

Change in CSK’s opening combination?
Fleming speaks about the aggressive opening combination of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra. When asked if there was any ‘designated’ aggressive opener between the two, the CSK coach says that nothing as such was defined. He points out while Rachin was positive in the game against RCB, there could be a different opening combination with Gaikwad against GT.
“No, it’s not defined like that. One day a player will get away better than another. Rachin was nice and positive the other day. It could be Ruturaj or even another opening combination on Tuesday,” Fleming adds.
