In a video uploaded by the franchise, Jadeja said “Feeling good, but at the same time, I have to fill big boots. Mahi bhai has had a big legacy, so I need to carry it forward. I don’t need to worry too much because he is here, so whatever questions I have, I will go and ask him.”
“He (MS Dhoni) will be my go-to person – he was, and he is still today. So yes, I am not worried too much. Thank you for your wishes and keep supporting us,” he further added.

Despite his optimistic comments, there will be immense pressure on Jadeja to deliver, for Dhoni had made CSK one of the most consistent and successful franchises of the competition.
This will be Jadeja’s first-ever captaincy stint in senior level. Previously, he led the Saurashtra Under-19 team Vinoo Mankad U19 Tournament, way back in 2007. The 33-year-old all-rounder’s first challenge will be against Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening game of IPL 2022, which will be played at the Wankhede Stadium on March 26.
