IPL Teams CSA League: As per a Cricbuzz report, IPL owners have purchased all six franchises in the new CSA T20 League scheduled for early next year.
The report states that Mukesh Ambani (MI), N Srinivasan (CSK), Parth Jindal (DC), The Maran family (SRH), Sanjiv Goenka (LSG) and Manoj Badale (RR) participated in the auction for teams. They are yet to be officially declared winners by the league organizers.
The winner of the franchises will be announced only at the end of the month. But the report has confirmed their ownership. The report claims that the owners have already been informed about their successful bids and have been asked for their choices of cities.
The reports state that MI and CSK placed the biggest financial bids, close to INR 250 crores. As the IPL model goes, each franchise will have to pay 10 per cent of the franchise fee for 10 years. The franchises have recently seen an influx of South African talent, with MI giving chances to Tristan Stubbs, and Dewald Brevis while CSK has had the likes of Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi among their ranks previously.
Sanjiv Goenka is believed to be interested in the Durban franchise having bought the Lucknow Super Giants last year. Sunrisers meanwhile could have their team based out of Port Elizabeth, while the Rajsthan Royals are expected to take over the Paarl franchise.
