Tim Paine – Australia: Australian men’s Test captain Tim Paine took over the captaincy from Steve Smith following the infamous ‘Sandgate Scandal’ in 2018. Now in 2021, he has stepped down from captaincy due to another scandal – the sexting scandal.
Paine sent the lewd pictures and text messages to a female Cricket Tasmania employee in November 2017, shortly before the first Ashes Test of that summer.
Cricket Australia was made aware of these texts when the woman in question made a complaint, a few months after Paine took on the captaincy.
Now, in late 2021 just ahead of the Ashes series, Paine says the texts were to be made public by the media that has resulted in him resigning as Test captain.
Shane Warne – Australia: The legendary spinner from Australia has been involved in many controversies & one of them is related to a couple of sex scandals.
To start with Warne has been news from time to time due to his extra-marital affairs. He has harassed a British nurse named Donna Wright and also had carnal relations with a couple of models ahead of a County Championship game in 2006
Warner has been caught enjoying his time with a Melbourne stripper in the past and also ran into a controversy after kissing his then-girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley openly in the stadium during the 2011 IPL match.

The self-proclaimed Universe Boss is world-famous for his lavish lifestyle. Gayle – who is semi-retired now – has been involved in a couple of infamous sex scandals.
To start with Chris Gayle was found “socialising” with three British women in his hotel room during the ICC World T20 2012.
Chris Gayle’s “Don’t blush, baby” comment to Australian TV presenter Mel McLaughlin for drinks during a live interview in the BBL is also pretty much famous and can be easily found on social media platforms. Gayle received much backlash for his comment.

In another controversial interview with journalist Charlotte Edwardes, Gayle bragged about his “very, very big bat”.
Kevin Pietersen – England: Former England captain and now a commentator and conservationist, Kevin Pietersen is also on this list.
Pietersen had a short but publicly well-known stint with Playboy model Vanessa Nimmo. However, he landed in trouble when his intimate secrets were made public by Nimmo herself after Pietersen reportedly dumped her.
“Kevin was desperate for sex and kept pestering me all day. I certainly wasn’t hit for six by his performance,” Vanessa Nimmo had claimed after the breakup.
Herschelle Gibbs – South Africa: The former South African opener spilled a few of his secrets in his autobiography ‘To The Point’.
Revealing an incident in his autobiography, Gibbs wrote: “I just knew I was going to get a century. Perhaps the girl lying in bed beside me had inspired me. She worked at the hotel, where I had befriended her.”
Talking about another incident, Gibbs wrote: “Two beds, two cricketers and three women. One of them wasn’t all that keen, though; she just lay on the bed. Which was fine – there was enough for everyone. The other two girls, however, more than made a go of it.”
Scott Kuggeleijn – New Zealand: The New Zealand speedster has been accused of rape in Hamilton in 2015. A case was filed against him in 2016. Kuggeleijn told the court that the woman was “provocatively dressed” and “looking for male attention” when they met at the bar which didn’t go well with the fans and netizens.
Scott Kuggeleijn, however, was later declared not guilty by the court in 2017.
Mohammad Shami – India – A few years back, Indian cricket was shaken with a scandalous controversy involving the Indian speedster – Mohammad Shami.
M Shami’s own wife Hasin Jahan filed an allegation against the Indian pacer for having extra-marital affairs which haven’t been proved yet.
She also released Shami’s personal chats with other females which M Shami later denied.

Sir Ian Botham – England: Sir Ian Botham has been accused of multiple extra-marital affairs and cheating on his wife.
The legendary English all-rounder had multiple affairs with an Australian waitress and with former Miss Barbados Lindy Field in the 1980s
Imam Ul Haq – Pakistan: Pakistan opening batsman Imam Ul Haq has been accused of harassing women in the past. A series of obscene chats and images of Imam Ul Haq were leaked on social media and he was alleged of having multiple affairs and cheating on his girlfriends.
However, the account that leaked his chats & images was later deleted.
Shahid Afridi – Pakistan: Former Pakistan skipper and legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi has had multiple controversies on the field as well as off the field throughout his career. In 2000, Afridi, Atiq-uz-Zaman, and Hasan Raza were banned from the ICC Champions Trophy in Kenya after being caught entertaining a group of young women in their Karachi hotel rooms.
All the three players said that the girls had merely “come to collect autographs.”
